I designed the email and social strategy, created assets, and ran the email and social campaign promoting and featuring this live virtual storytelling event.

Storyslam 2021: Recipes for Resilience was an annual fundraiser for Real Food Real Stories that used to be a live storytelling event with reflective and celebratory personal stories from leaders in the SF Bay food community pre-pandemic, but was shifted to a virtual platform in 2021. All proceeds from the event went to food changemakers whose businesses and lives were hit by the pandemic and 2020 California wildfires.⁠⁠

Storyteller Features

As part of the teaser content for the event, I created features for each of the event’s storytellers which introduced them to our audience on our social platforms.

Recipes for Resilience from our Community

Our team created a chapbook of recipes for resilience from our community of food leaders, and I adapted the recipes for sharing on our social channels in a mini-series as event teaser content.

Friends in Your Fridge

As part of the social promo for this virtual event, I created an IG Live series titled “Friends in Your Fridge” that featured SF Bay Area culinary leaders getting real about resilience and storytelling in their work + a sneak peek inside their fridges.

IG & FB Story Ads

In the lead up to the event, I ran a combination of paid ads and promo stories on Facebook and Instagram featuring the fundraiser.
